Spanish manufacturer Televes Corporation has announced the launch of a Polish subsidiary, to be headquartered in the city of Wroclaw, as part of its expansion in Central and Eastern Europe.
“The Polish market is in many ways similar to the Spanish market and is a point of reference for those countries that joined the EU in 2004 (Hungary, The Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Baltic States), as well as for those nations with which it has historical and cultural links, such as Ukraine and Belarus”, said Luis Romero Suárez, MD of Televes Poland.
Poland is embarking on the transition to digital terrestrial television, a process which is expected to continue until July 2013. Thanks to the major role it played in the now successfully concluded analogue switch off in Spain, and its participation in the same process in other countries, Televes is well equipped to place its experience and technological know-how at the service of the success of DTT in Poland. “An active participation in this process is one of our medium-term goals”, Mr Romero Suárez asserted.
Televes Poland is the latest pillar in the multinational structure of Televes Corporation, which already has subsidiaries in eight other countries: Portugal, France, Germany, the UK, Italy, the US, China and the UAE. The launch of the Polish subsidiary is part of the company’s strategic objective of increasing international sales to over 50% of total turnover in the medium term.
