Poland’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has approved the switch of the leading commercial stations Polsat, TVN, TV4 and TV Puls from the first to second multiplex.
According to Wirtualne Media, this will result in the second multiplex carrying a total of eight channels, with each one of the remaining four being operated by one of the four stations.
In the case of TV Puls, it will be a new channel named Puls Kids, while TVN will contribute TVN7.
The public broadcaster TVP’s three main channels TVP1, TVP2 and TVP Info will remain on the first multiplex, with the vacated slots being allocated through a tender.
TVP will also have the third multiplex, though in its entirety, and use it to distribute its thematic channels.
Poland launched its DTT service last autumn and at present only the first multiplex is operational.
