French channel operator PureScreens has announced a distribution agreement with France Telecom for the launch of a new HD channel on Orange’s IPTV platform in France. The channel will be available to Orange TV’s 600,000 basic subscribers.
The 24/7 service is free of advertising and will broadcast home-grown and exclusive programming shot in native HD. The channel’s grid will consist of three thematic programming blocks: PureScreens HD Nature is a sequence of shots of natural sites, filmed all over the globe from a fixed HD camera. The 10-minute unedited programmes reflect nature’s slow pace and convey.
PureScreens HD Museum features themed slideshows of masterpieces. The artworks are selected from a catalogue of over 500,000 pictures, encompassing all artworks presented in French national museums, such as Musée du Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, Musée Picasso as well as many other prestigious European museums (including the National Gallery of London, the Uffizi Gallery of Florence, Munich’s Pinakothek).
PureScreens HD Ocean showcases images of underwater scenery shot in the world’s most renowned diving spots. The 10 minute unedited programmes filmed in native HD from a locked-off camera position at the bottom of the ocean unveil the marvels of sea life, while conveying the hyper-realistic feeling of being there!
