Bulgaria’s leading cable operator, formed by the merger of Eurocom and CableTel, has rebranded and is now known as Blizoo.
Quoted in Dnevnik, the company’s executive director Istvan Polony said that it would invest €50 million on infrastructure this year and by October offer internet access at speeds of up to 200 Mbps.
It will also provide subscribers with VOD from the second quarter of 2011 and focus on expanding its fibre optic network over the next five years. Polony added that Blizoo would acquire an operator in the north of the country in the next few days.
It also expects to maintain its market share this year.
Eurocom and CableTel were bought by the private Swedish equity fund EQT V last year in a deal worth some €200 million.
