Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has promoted Kate Marsh to become senior vice president, broadcast and channel development, within the company’s networks division.
Marsh, who joined SPT in September 2008, will focus on developing Sony’s European channel portfolio that includes the Sony Entertainment Television, AXN and Animax brands. Marsh will continue to oversee the EMEA broadcast networks team based in London and also manage SPT’s networks business in Italy.
“Kate has that rare mix of pay-TV skills that incorporates both creative and commercial expertise. Her talent for developing the performance of our pay-TV channels portfolio has been central to the ongoing success of our business, particularly in Italy. Marsh joined SPT from GroupM where she was Director, Entertainment, EMEA since 2006. Prior to GroupM, Marsh worked for News Corp’s Sky Italia where she was responsible for creating channels including the now widely deployed Fox Life, Sky Vivo and Paramount Comedy, Italia alongside developing interactive, 24-hour Big Brother and Celebrity Survivor. She also spent time as deputy director of broadcasting & production at BSkyB, where her responsibilities included Sky One.
