MTV España will be available free to air nationwide on the national digital terrestrial network on June 1 thanks to a distribution agreement between Viacom and Vocento.
MTV will replace the Spanish language music channel 40 Latino, which will disappear following the merger of Cuatro and Telecinco.
MTV España was established in 2000 and until now only available on various pay-TV platforms. Spanish operator Vocento has a terrestrial licence for four national channels under the Net TV banner. It already broadcasts the Spanish version of the Disney Channel FTA.
