Complete episodes from HBO-originated shows are to appear on 3 UK’s mobile TV S-VOD offer following an agreement brokered by London-based On Demand Group.
Subscribers will be able to watch episodes of series that include The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
“With just a few clicks, 3 UK’s SVOD subscribers will now have quick access to some of our most compelling and critically acclaimed programmes,” said Stanley Fertig, Senior Vice President, HBO International. “The new TV: On Demand platform allows for a great deal of personalization, so customers who subscribe to the service will be able to instantly watch HBO programmes at their convenience.”
Although HBO does not run any linear channels in the UK market it is slowly building an on demand presence. In addition to 3, the US paybox already has a presence on Virgin Media, BT Vision and the Apple iTunes Store.
