Troubled Spanish DTH platform Digital+ continued to haemorrhage subscribers in the first quarter.
The platform, now jointly owned by Prisa, Telecinco and Telefónica, lost another 46,969 subscribers to reach 1.798,845 at the end of March. It is now nine quarters since the Astra/Hispasat-delivered service recorded an increase in numbers.
APRU climbed slightly to €41.8, while the Canal+ Liga pay option remained stable on 700,000 subscribers.
Despite the pressure on numbers Digital+ was able to report increased revenues of €296.94 million and EBITDA of 74.47 million. Its EBITDA margin improved to 25.1% compared to 20.5% in the first quarter of 2009.
