O2 TV, the IPTV service operated by Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, ended the first quarter with 138,000 subscribers, or 7.8% more than a year earlier.
At the same time, the telco had 691,000 ADSL access lines, a year-on-year increase of 12.9%. Although revenues from its fixed business division fell by 9.6% year-on-year to CZK6,152 million (€241.8 million) in the first quarter, those for internet and broadband rose by 44% to CZK1,485 million.
O2 TV is one of the most successful IPTV operations in the CEE region. It currently offers subscribers three packages – O2 TV Zábava, O2 TV Kino and O2 TV Sport, consisting of 30, 18 and 22 channels respectively – along with VOD, a TV archive and 17 radio stations, for CZK500 a month, or CZK400 if taken with O2 internet.
