It has emerged that Ben Bennett has quietly stepped down from his position as CEO of OpenTV following the acquisition of the company by Kudelski and a reorganization of the group’s structure.
The ‘announcement’ was quietly made on the board of directors page of the company website which now states Bennett ‘served as OpenTV’s Chief Executive Officer from March 2008 to March 2010’. Bennett initially took the role in August 2007 after Alan Guggenheim, who briefly held the post after Jim Chiddix, resigned for personal reasons.
Bennett, who joined OpenTV following the company’s acquisition of Spyglass, remains on the board, and will stay with the company through until October.
Alex Osadzinski, EVP and director of digital TV product at Kudelski, will take on a number of Bennett’s responsibilities.
