Universal Channel has launched a brand new look and programming in some of its key markets in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
Part of Universal Networks International’s (UNI’s) plans to harmonise its TV channels under five revitalised core brands, it started in Russia, the Baltic Republics and CIS on May 5 and will do so in Poland and Romania from May 12. In Russia, for the first time ever, Universal Channel will feature local content with the premieres of two smash hit movies.
Colin McLeod, MD, Central and Eastern Europe, UNI said: “The refreshed Universal Channel is a natural evolution for UNI. Building on Universal’s entertainment heritage we will continue showing quality content in an engaging TV environment, now further emphasized with a contemporary, vibrant channel identity. The new look channel is packed with compelling characters such as the neurotic Dr. Gregory House, the compulsive Nurse Jackie, the straight-talking Hank Lawson in Royal Pains and the meticulous Horatio Caine in CSI: Miami, which our viewers will enjoy.”
