Portuguese IPTV platform Meo has upgraded its Microsoft Mediaroom middleware across all of its set-top boxes. The operator is also planning its first 3D transmission. The new software version was introduced following an analysis of TV usage patterns. The upgraded design and user interface is intended to bring a more intuitive user experience. In the case of the PVR functionality, Series Link recording has been introduced along with remote booking.
The upgrade was accompanied by a new marketing campaign that emphasized Meo’s position in the Portuguese market.
A new deal with web portal Sapo makes it possible for customers to upload their photos to Meo or Sapo, and watch a slideshow on their TV.
