Russia’s CTC Media has posted revenue of $123,200,000 (€93,060,500) for the first quarter, an increase of 18% on the same period last year.
Advertising, which accounted for $116,983,000 of the total, was also 18% up on a year earlier. OIBDA in Q1 was meanwhile slightly up (1%) year-on-year at $39,653,000, while net income rose by 8% to $24,199,000.
CTC Media is backed by Modern Times Group (MTG) and operates a number of TV stations in Russia, the largest of which is CTC Network, which saw operating revenues rise by 17% year-on-year in Q1.
CTC Network’s average audience share in the 6-54 age group was, at 12.6% in Q1, also higher than that a year earlier (11.4%) though slightly down on the previous quarter (12.7%).
Domashny Network, targeting a female audience, saw its average audience share rise from 2.6% to 3% over the year, while those of both the DTV Network (2.2% to 2.1%) and Channel 31 (12.7% to 10.5%) fell.
