Benelux platforms add Ketnet/Canvas HD

April 23, 2010 08.34 Europe/London By Robert Briel

The Dutch Canal Digitaal Satelliet and Belgian TV Vlaanderen DTH platforms will add Ketnet/Canvas HD from May 4.

Ketnet/Canvas is the second channel of Flemish public service broadcasters VRT and specialises in kids programming during the daytime and complementary programming to VRT een during the evenings.

The addition of the channel brings the total of HD channels available to Dutch DTH viewers to 28 with CDS claiming it is the cheapest way in Holland to receive the most HD channels. The add-on price for HD is €5 per month.

At the same time, the two DTH platforms will cease to distribute the French music channel Trace TV.
