UPC has confirmed that its DTH platform UPC Direct will have a significantly improved offer from May 1.
An announcement by the company’s Slovak division says that viewers will provided with over 30 new and attractive channels, including Fishing & Hunting, History Channel and National Geographic, of which some will be in HD, at no extra expense.
It adds that the process of technically switching reception equipment as the platform moves to Thor 5 and 6 at one degree West is likely to take approximately three months.
According to Magnus Ternsjö, MD of UPC Broadband’s DTH business, “we will provide new programmes and new services to our customers in the shortest possible time.”
UPC Direct’s new operator will be based in Luxembourg and bring together its services in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as Romania’s Focus Sat.
