Bulgaria’s Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) has imposed fines totalling BNG225,000 (€115,012) on cable operators and ISPs.
According to Pari, they follow a total of 484 inspections in which 248 found the companies to violating the Electronic Communications Act, which requires them to place their cables underground.
Vivacom (BTC), the incumbent telco, has been fined BNG80,000, CableTel and Eurocom (now operating together as the largest cableco in Bulgaria) a total of BNG110,000 and Escom BNG35,000.
