Piotr Nurowski, a founder of the Polish national commercial station Polsat and current member of its supervisory board, has been named as one of the victims of the presidential plane crash near Smolensk, Russia.
A former president of the board at Elektrim, Nurowski was also the current president of the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOI).
Polsat was established in 1992. Majority owned by Zygmunt Solorz-Zak, its interests include a national TV station of the same name and Cyfrowy Polsat, one of the most successful DTH platforms in Central and Eastern Europe.
