Honeycutt to head Discovery international operations

April 9, 2010 09.50 Europe/London By Julian Clover

One of the key players in the launch of Discovery Channel’s 3D network has been named in the new role of executive vice president and head of international business operations for Discovery Networks International. Based in London, John Honeycutt will report to the division’s President and CEO, Mark Hollinger.

“I have had the pleasure of working closely with John since his first day at Discovery nearly seven years ago, and he is simply one of the most talented and hard working executives at Discovery,” said Hollinger. “In his current role as chief media technology officer, Honeycutt has proven to be a visionary leader with a strong talent for effectively managing the complex technology and data transmission issues for Discovery’s broadcast centers and network operations worldwide. His vast knowledge and expertise will help streamline our international business operations moving forward.”

Honeycutt will work with the division’s programming, ad and affiliate sales, digital media, research and Information Technology teams.
