CME has closed the sale of its operations in Ukraine, which include Studio 1+1 and the Kino channels, to Harley Trading Limited for $300 million (€223.9 million).
CME obtained the first part of the payment ($30 million) in cash from Harley Trading Limited, which is owned by CME director Igor Kolomoisky, on February 1. It received the balance of $278 million, which includes $8 million for cash expenses of Studio 1+1 Group incurred between the signing and closing of the transaction, today (April 7).
The money will be used to fund CME’s acquisition of the Bulgarian station bTV from News Corp, which is expected to close later this month.
