Sky has added its new 3D channel into the Sky Guide EPG ahead of its launch at 12.00 this Saturday, April 3.
A placeholder on channel 217 advises customers with a 3D Ready TV to contact the broadcaster’s customer services department to add the channel to their package. There is no additional charge for residential customers already taking the HD and Sky World packs.
Although 3D sets are being launched in the UK by LG, Panasonic, Samsung and Sony it is unlikely that many will be in place for Saturday. However, 1,000 pubs will be ready for the lunchtime Premier League kick-off between Manchester United and Chelsea.
Sky has been promoting the launch of its 3D channel through its sponsorship of Tim Button’s 3D cinema release Alice in Wonderland.
