IPTV World Forum – London. ADB is making its first foray into UK retail with the launch of an HD DVB-T2 set-top in line with the commercial launch of Freeview HD.
The i-CAN Easy HD will ship in May, taking the same consumer brand that has sold two million units in Italy. “There had been some discussions following the launch of Tivù Sat and with many of the sales team being based in the UK there was a certain desire to have a product here too,” Paul Bristow, vice-president of strategy, middleware and consumer experience at ADB, told Broadband TV News.
Running on a Linux-based system, and featuring ADB’s own Carbo graphical user interface, the i-CAN Easy HD has a USB port for software upgrades, Dolby Digital+, modem and Ethernet connections. It is also capable of running the dedicated version of the BBC iPlayer.
Pricing will be confirmed in the next few weeks.
