Petr Peterka has been named as the new CTO at content protection firm Verimatrix.Peterka was a member of the technical staff in the CTO’s office at Motorola’s Home and Networks Mobility Team. He has a background in digital rights management and conditional access that includes work on IPTV, DVB-H, iPhone and Android platforms. Peterka has also been active with standards bodies DECE, DLNA CPS, ATIS, SMPTE, Coral, DVB and ITU-T.
“Petr brings depth and strength to the management team at Verimatrix and especially a new perspective related to large operator customers and the evolution of their security requirements as they move towards multi-network, multi-device delivery,” said Tom Munro, CEO, Verimatrix. “Petr will also raise the profile of Verimatrix in our standards body activities, an increasingly important aspect of our organization as we contribute our leadership perspective to an evolving market.”
Peterka replaces Bob Kulakowski, a founder of the company, who remains a shareholder and is staying on as an advisor.
