Arab Radio & Television (ART), the Middle East pay-TV broadcaster, is to launch an IPTV service in 2010. Initially, ART will provide the IPTV service in the Middle East region with an on-demand service, offering a variety of popular films.
This service will be run on the ApolloTV Solution designed by BS Mediasoft, a Korean systems integration company. Subscribers will be able to enjoy the service with a HD hybrid PVR set top box which is to be deployed by ART.
“Scalability and flexible system architecture for future Streaming Multicast and Streaming IP VOD services are the key advantages of ApolloTV.” said Mr. Alan Constant, CTO of AMC. He adds,“its advanced technical features have been central to our decision to work with BSM on this exciting new venture”.
ApolloTV is a core middleware solution for IPTV download and play services, and is a fully integrated system. Apollo’s advanced features include Asset Management, Content Distribution, EPG/IPG Management, Authentication and Edge Management.
The software for the HD hybrid PVR set top box has also been developed by BS Mediasoft and includes middleware designed exclusively for ART.
