Hispasat has facilitated Spain’s first 3D transmission of a sporting event. Last Saturday’s indoor football match between Inter Movistar and MRA Navarra was relayed to a Madrid cinema as part of the 3DLive project.
“Since we at Hispasat are backing that cutting-edge solutions will provide high value to our customers. With their high bandwidth, our satellites are an ideal vehicle for the new 3D TV that will soon be available to every citizen,” said Hispasat President Petra Mateos.
The pictures were relayed over Hispasat 1D (30 degrees West) as part of the project funded by the ministry of industry s part of Plan Avanza and co-ordinated by Telefonica. Production company ITP Producciones Audiovisuales, cinema chain Kinepolis and the University of Zaragoza also participated in the project.
