Irdeto has announced its full compatibility with Abertis Telecom’s open digital terrestrial TV TDT Premium platform. The move will give Spanish TV operators a choice of downloadable CA systems over the Abertis network.
The Irdeto Conditional Access System gives Abertis the capability to offer to any TV operator interested in a TDT Premium platform not only a choice, but an option of different business models in order to comply to any specific request from TV operators. Such a joined activity between Irdeto and Abertis, a result of successful trials of the Irdeto CAS with the Abertis TDT Platform, reflects the natural open behaviour of the Abertis pay DTT technical proposition.
Abertis Telecom’s TDT Premium solution is capable of downloading and updating Irdeto’s CAS software over-the-air which features built-in mechanisms for the prevention against card attacks, meaning operators can protect their content against theft or control word sharing piracy. Irdeto’s unique anti-piracy method enforces security, which is especially critical in regions where we continue to experience high levels of illegal downloads and hacking.
