The Polish alternative telco Netia has stated its intention of launching an IPTV service this year.
Quoted by Wirtualne Media, its president Miroslaw Godlewski said that the company is looking at various options. These are understood to include the renegotiation of an agreement with the DTH platform n to jointly operate a service – its launch has been delayed for some considerable time – or to find a new partner.
IPTV services are still relatively undeveloped in Poland, being only provided by a handful of companies headed by the incumbent telco TPSA.
Netia, which claims to be the country’s leading alternative telco, ended 2009 with 559,317 broadband subscribers.
