A new Egyptian bouquet with five major channels is launching on the Arabsat satellite Badr-4 for viewers in the Arab World, Europe and Africa. The satellite is positioned at 26 degrees East.
Eng. Khalid Balkhyour, president & CEO of Arabsat, said in a statement that “The launch of these channels forms the nucleus of a new Egyptian bouquet on Arabsat satellites. The number of these channels is expected to increase to be 10 Egyptian channels by the end of this year. Intensive talks about the remaining channels are in progress. This bouquet covers the Arab world, large parts of Europe and the whole of Africa. The latest marketing studies now show that a great percentage of the Arab expatriates in Europe follow and watch Arabic programmes on Arabsat Badr –4.”
He also added “In the same manner, Dream, Dream2 and Mehwer joined the Arabsat “see-digital-all” package on Arabsat 2B at 30.5 degrees East and will reach Arab viewers in Africa.” The launch of the new Arabsat 5A in May 2010 will further increase cover age the whole continent of Africa.
