Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has said its VidZone application has been downloaded by two million PlayStation 3 users from 18 different countries after six months. Together they are responsible for streaming more than 200 million music videos.
VidZone offers free on-demand video clips of national and international artists. The software allows users to compose their own playlists to be suitable for any occasion. PS3 owners using VidZone have the opportunity to stream unlimited videos to their PSP (PlayStation Portable) via the remote play feature.
The team behind VidZone believes that the unprecedented success is due to the quality of the content, consisting of thousands of music videos from independent record labels, and major international record labels. VidZone also offers hundreds of sessions and interviews, exclusive behind the scenes material and live images from leading artists including Groove Armada, Jamie Cullum, Kasabian, Placebo, The Prodigy and U2.
