Norkring d.o.o, the Slovenian subsidiary of Norkring International AS, has announced plans for the launch of what will be the country’s second DTT multiplex.
According to the company, it has reached agreements with six broadcasters for carriage on the multiplex (‘B’), which will begin its commercial operation on September 1 this year.
Multiplex B is expected to reach over 85% of households in Slovenia before the country officially completes ASO on December 1.
The first multiplex (A) is already used by Slovenia’s public broadcaster RTV Slo. Norkring International AS, which is part of Telenor Broadcast Holding, was awarded a 10-year licence for Multiplex B from Slovenia’s Agency for Post and Electronic Communications (APEK) in December 2008.
