Look ahead to ANGA

January 11, 2010 09.01 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

This year’s ANGA Cable conference and exhibition will take place between May 4 and 6 in the familiar surroundings of the Köln Messe, Cologne, Germany. Last year the event boasted record numbers and the organisers expect to be equally successful this year.

Dr. Peter Charissé, Managing Director, ANGA: “We are pleased with the high demand for floor space at this early point in time and we are delighted to welcome several new exhibitors. Also, a number of long term customers will again increase their floor space. This means that we are reaching the capacity limit of our fair hall in Cologne. Our event has a clear focus on the growing industry sector “broadband” (cable, fibre and satellite) which pays off even in an overall difficult economic environment. The bookings show that in 2010 ANGA Cable will again stake out its position as leading industry market place in Europe.”

Dr Peter Charisse

The highlights of the congress which takes place alongside the exhibition are the German Strategy Summit and the International Broadband Summit. Participants will include top level representatives from Alcatel-Lucent, Cable Labs, Cisco, Deutsche Telekom, Eutelsat, Kabel Baden-Württemberg, Kabel Deutschland, Liberty Global, Motorola, NetCologne, ProSiebenSat.1, SES Astra, Unitymedia, YouSee, and ZDF. All 20 congress events will be translated simultaneously (German/English).

The complete congress programme will be published in February. Congress tickets for the complete strategy and technology programme (including the exhibition) cost 180 Euro; tickets also covering the evening event “ANGA Cable Night” cost 240 Euro. The “Technology Ticket” which covers attendance of the technology panels and entrance to the exhibition costs 90 Euro. Entrance to the exhibition costs 20 Euro. All prices quoted include VAT. Online registration for visiting the exhibition and the congress has started (www.angacable.com).

ANGA Cable Show is a trade fair not tied to any exhibition site and is organized annually by the Association of German Cable Operators (ANGA). In previous years the event was located in Cologne, following Mainz and Berlin. ANGA Cable is supported by ZVEI (Satellite & Cable). The event is sponsored by Alcatel-Lucent, ASTRA Deutschland, Discovery Networks Deutschland, Nagravision, QVC, and Unitymedia.

Fair and convention tickets can be ordered online via www.angacable.com.
