Thousands of satellite TV dishes go unused and households are missing out on free satellite TV, claims Harvard International, the distributor of Grundig and Goodmans satellite receivers. Research shows that 600,000 homes across the UK are missing out on subscription free digital satellite TV even though they have a dish connected to their home.
John Edwards, Harvard International’s director of communications, said in a statement, “We really want to help digitally dormant homes to get connected to the best TV experience possible. It’s particularly simple for homes to enable Freesat or Freesat+ if they already have a satellite TV dish connected to their home.”
The research does not specify why these dormant dish homes are not actively using their dish, but it might include people whose pay-TV subscription has expired. Needelss to say that Harvard hopes to sell them their Grundig or Goodmans boxes.
