Following similar deals in the UK, Germany, Austria and Italy, the Finnish telecoms operator Elisa Viihde is now launching a VOD service from Warner Bros. International Branded Services.
WarnerTV and WarnerFilms will now be available to viewers in Finland with more than 500 episodes each year of WarnerTV series such as Friends, Two and a Half Men, The O.C., One Tree Hill and Smallville. In addition, WarnerFilms will present more than 150 movies a year including blockbusters and classic titles such as Ocean’s Eleven, The Matrix, The Shining and All the President’s Men.
“Consumers continue to seek ways to view their favorite programming on demand, and the launch of WarnerTV and WarnerFilms will provide audiences in Finland the opportunity to access high-quality TV series and feature films whenever they want,” said Malcolm Dudley-Smith, the executive VP of business management at Warner Bros. International Branded Services, in a statement.
The Warner TV service is now in the process of rolling out in Europe and other territories. Just last month, Warner announced plans to launch a WarnerTV-branded 24-hour linear channel throughout Asia in 2010 to be marketed by HBO Asia.
