TV ad revenue is unlikely to start growing in Russia again before the middle of next year, while total ad revenues are likely to grow by anything between 1.5-7%.
According to Kommersant, the former projection has been made by the country’s leading sales house Video International (VI) and the latter by Aegis Group, Group M and ZenithOptimedia.
GroupM expects to see total ad spend in Russia to fall by 19.6% this year to R216.7 billion (€4.9 billion), while ZenithOptimedia predicts an even steeper fall of 27% to R194.7 billion.
Aegis Group, on the other hand, expects a 21.9% contraction to R207.5 billion.
ZenithOptimedia paints the most optimistic picture for 2010, expecting total ad revenues to grow by 7%.
