The German cable operator Kabel Deutschland KDG had a record 11.8 million RGUs as of Q32009, or 585,000 more than a year earlier. The average monthly ARPU increased to €11.8 from €10.92 a year earlier.
The total number of paying digital TV customers went up 21,000 (2.5%) to 844,000 homes. A total of 851,000 bought broadband access and 872,000 cable telephony, while 967,200 home opted for either or both of these cable services. About one third of all subscriptions concern premium products.
During the first six months of the financial year 2009/2010, turnover rose 10% to €735.5 million from €668.5 million, while EBITDA went up 16.2% to €321.9 million from €277.1 million. Net result was €4 million (up fro minus €20.6 million).
KDG operates cable networks in 13 German federal states and supplies its services to approximately 9.1 million connected households.
