Poland’s second largest cable operator Vectra has introduced a HD PVR product.
Employing a 320 GB hard disk, it allows 70 hours of films and programmes to be recorded in HD and up to 180 in SD.
The HD PVR is being offered in all 41 cities in which Vectra provides a digital TV service, with prices raging from PLN5.90 (€1.44) to PLN19.90 a month depending on the package received.
Vectra is also offering the HD PVR for a two-month trial period in which customers do not have to pay the activation fee, only the monthly subscription fee.
Gdynia-based Vectra has 740,000 subscribers in 155 towns and cities throughout Poland.
It plans to introduce VOD in 2010 and is also currently taking part in mobile TV trials.
