Turkey’s public broadcaster TRT has announced the launch of a tourism and documentary channel “to satisfy expectations of documentary enthusiasts and to promote Turkey’s cultural and natural heritage.”
The channel will broadcast in Turkish, English, French, German and Russian and is available on satellite as part of the D-Smart (Turksat 2A, 42 degrees East) and Digiturk (Eutelsat W3A, 7 degrees East) DTH platforms, whose footprints cover Asia, Europe and Africa. At a later stage, TRT also plans to distribute the channel as an Internet stream.
As yet, the new channel has no name, but the audience will vote for the name of the channel and the result will be announced during a ceremony, said the broadcaster.
