MTV Networks is dropping its TMF brand in the UK, replacing it with a new entertainment network that will take the VIVA name. The October 26 launch will put the channel on Sky, Freeview and Virgin Media.
“VIVA is about fun and frivolity and not taking yourself too seriously, it’s a real antidote to the daily grind,” explained MTV Networks director of television Heather Jones. “It is not simply a new-look TMF but instead a completely new channel with a unique blend that only we at MTVN can create because of our hefty credentials in producing and broadcasting music, comedy and entertainment programming.”
VIVA, a brand already known to viewers in Germany, Poland and Hungary, will include series including The Hills, South Park and Scream Queens. Music programming, including the popular The Official Chart Show will also be carried forward from TMF.
