The number of broadband connections in Spain rose by 45,657 in August to reach 9.4 million, according to data published by the regulatory authority CMT.
This represented a year-on-year rise of 8.3% and was the highest increase in any August for three years.
Cable modems fell slightly during the month to a total 1.8 million.
