The French media authority CSA has set the date for analogue switch-off of the Oaris region, Ile de France, as March 8, 2011.
From that date, the analogue transmitters of TF1, France 2, France 3, France 5, Arte and M6 will no longer be active and only digital terrestrial reception possible. By that time, premium TV channel Canal+ will already have been switched off.
A total of 53 transmitters site are affected, including one of the most famous ones: those on the Eiffel tower. All six free-to-air channels are broadcast from here.
In France, digital switch-over is taking place on region-by-region basis.
