Poland’s fourth largest cable operator Aster intends to invest PLN100 million (€23.8 million) this year, according to its president Janusz Arciszewski.
In a wide-ranging interview with Wirtualne Media, he added that the company remains confident of overcoming competition from Vectra and Multimedia Polska in the lucrative Warsaw market, in which the two operators are recent entrants.
Aster, which is a quad play company, launched a VOD service in June that has already been used at least once by over 50% of its subscribers who own HD or HD PVR receivers. However, Arciszewski conceded, it has yet to break even.
