Scarlet is to sell a quad play package including Belgacom TV, mobile and fixed line telephony and internet access at the budget price of €50 a month.
The new offer is called Scarlet One and is comparable with a package that Belgacom itself sells for €60.15. Scarlet used to be an independent price fighter on the Belgian market and was acquired by Belgacom late last year. The incumbent plans to continue to position Scarlet as a low cost alternative.
Scarlet is believed to have around 150,000 customers in the country. In April, the company said it also wanted to enter the digital TV market.
With the new pricing, Scarlet could cannibalise the Belgacom TV offer as well as secure new customers who are attracted by the low pricing.
