The Bulgarian incumbent telco BTC, which operates under the brand name Vivacom, will shortly launch a triple play service.
However, according to Dnevnik, it will consist of internet access, fixed and mobile telephony, and not as yet TV.
BTC has confirmed that launching IPTV is on its agenda, though at the moment only a small portion of its existing networks are technically capable of delivering a service.
Although Bulgaria has privately-owned IPTV services, the best known of which is operated by the alternative telco Vestitel, it is one of the few countries in CEE where the incumbent has yet to launch one.
