The new Dutch language Belgian commercial channel Exqi Plus will only launch in February, according to Gabriël Fehervari, CEO Alfacam. It was originally expected to make its debut this autumn.
Exqi Plus has been delayed because analogue cable carriage. on Telenet and other cablers, was only secured last August. “This was an absolute must in order to succeed with the channel,” added Fehervari.
For the time being, Exqi Intro will take its place on analogue and digital, cable with cultural and sports programming supplied by Exqi Culture and Exqi Sport.
Alfacam will take a minority share in the new channel, as will Fehervari. The company and its CEO have been frontrunners in HD broadcasting with a number of channels including HD-1, HD-5 and HD-7.
