Norkring has selected IMPEQ to provide a complete digital head-end solution for the transmission of new terrestrial services in Flanders, Belgium.
In March this year the Telenor subsidiary won the bid for complete operation of the VRT DVB-T activities in Belgium.
The broadcaster has selected IMPEQ for the complete design, delivery and implementation of the digital head-end, together with comprehensive support services.
Frode Gautvi, the technical manager at Norkring, said in a statement; ”It has been the pragmatic and flexible approach from IMPEQ that has brought us together. As a solution provider and service company IMPEQ provided alternative solutions and a strong service offering. It was not only the the local presence but experience in turn key projects that got our immediate attention”
He added: ”The strong references from their existing customers, relationships with their technology partners and the ability to deliver the complete system within four weeks were key points because of our tight schedule to go on-air in November’.
“For IMPEQ the turn key deployment of the system in Belgium will possibly be the shortest implementation of a DVB-T head-end we have witnessed so far. We recognize the importance of reliable project delivery times for our customers.”, said Jan Carel Teding van Berkhout, sales manager for IMPEQ.
“With our project team geared up and the support from our suppliers, we can give our total assurance that deadlines are met as committed. The build of this specific system will mark the start of a important co-operation between Norkring and IMPEQ.”
