The BBC is launching a new Red Button interactive service for its pre-school channel CBeebies. It follows the launch of a dedicated CBeebies iPlayer earlier in the year.
The new interactive area replaces the original area introduced in 2002 and is designed to reflect the needs and mood of children throughout the day, with games and content based around popular programmes such as In The Night Garden and the Green Balloon Club. There will also be new look Birthdays and Star of the Week sections that allow parents request that their child’s name appears on screen.
CBeebies Red Button programming have been developed in house by the BBC’s TV Platforms team. It is available cross platform on cable, satellite and terrestrial. Satellite viewers can also access CBeebies radio, broadcast as part of digital station BBC Radio 7.
