The Thor 6 satellite will be shipped to Arianespace’s launch facility in Kourou this coming Monday (September 28), according to Thales Alenia Space.
Thor 6, built by Thales Alenia Space for Telenor Satellite Broadcasting in Norway, will launch October 29 aboard an Ariane 5 rocket and be placed at 1 degree West.
The satellite is based on the Thales Alenia Space Spacebus 4000 B2 platform and fitted with 36 Ku-band transponders. Thor 6 aims to provide high power services over Europe for a minimum of 15 years.
