Russia will end this year with around 13.5 million homes, equivalent to 23% of the total, receiving pay-TV. Furthermore, according to data published by Cableman, the figure should rise to 15 million homes next year.
The focus in the pay-TV will turn increasingly towards the provision of such additional services as PPV and VOD. There are also likely to be more à la carte offers appearing, as well as channels broadcasting over the internet. T
he telco sector is meanwhile likely to see more consolidation, leading to the market being dominated by 3-4 brands by 2011.
