The Serbian station TV Sports Arena is likely to develop into a pan-regional sports broadcaster, offering viewers in the former Yugoslav countries several sports channels.
According to MPortal, TV Sports Arena began experimental broadcasts a month ago, already operates three channels – Arena Sports 1, 2 and 3 – and has plans to launch Arena Sports 4 and a HD channel by November.
In an interview with MPortal, Arena Sports TV CEO Dakovic Alexander said that the broadcaster, whose services are already distributed by the Serbian incumbent telco’s IPTV platform and Serbian cable operator KDS PTT, is engaged in negotiations with a number of cable operators.
He also hinted that it may secure carriage for its services on SBB’s cable networks and the Total TV DTH platform. They will in addition become available in Bosnia & Herzegovina within a matter of days, and are also likely to appear in Croatia.
