The Russian cable operator Akado has begun to offer double play services in Ekaterinburg, Russia’s fifth largest city.
Cableman reports that at present a total of 23,000 subscribers receive either TV or internet services from the company. It is planned that the total internet customers will increase by 25% and TV by 13% by the end of this year.
Subscribers will be offered between 32-51 TV channels and internet access at speeds of 10-15 Mbps.
At present Akado passes around 148,000 homes in Ekaterinburg for internet and 43,500 for TV services.
