Viasat has added the catch-up TV services from SVT and TV4 to its OnDemand internet portal. It means the portal now carries content from broadcasters that command 68.2% of viewing in the Swedish market.
As well as online, Viasat OnDemand is also available to satellite subscribers in possession of the broadband hybrid ViasatPlusHD receiver.
Hans-Holger Albrecht, president & CEO of MTG said the addition of TV4 and SVT made Viasat a clear leader in the delivery of on demand content. “The development of Viasat OnDemand reflects our commitment to make a wide range of free and paid-for programming available to viewers on a flexible ‘anytime, anywhere’ basis via multiple distribution platforms including the internet.”
Content from public broadcaster SVT can be accessed free of charge alongside Viasat’s own TV3 Play, TV6 Play and TV8 Play services. TV4 Play will initially be available free, but will eventually move to pay as part of a larger TV4 offering.
